Roller derby skater Bree Larceny

For a recent Trinquette Challenge, I shared a bunch of Gil Elvgren paintings and the reference photos he took to paint them. I challenged participants to reimagine Elvgren's work in their own style. Here's my own take on his ice skating illustration, "A Cute Injury," which I based more on his reference photo than his painting (check the leg positions.)

In my version, she's a contemporary roller derby girl, skating for the Hayward Faults (a fictional team.) Her derby name is Bree Larceny.
